Their visit comes just days after a disturbing incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, where gunshots were reported and Trump was quickly escorted out by security. The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, now faces multiple charges, including attempted assassination and firearms-related offenses.
According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Trump appeared to reference the incident directly, beginning with a remark about “this shooting.” Charles reportedly responded by suggesting he didn’t want to linger, saying he felt uncomfortable being there.
Trump is said to have reassured him, admitting he hadn’t been prepared before but now felt more ready. He then reportedly shifted topics, mentioning a conversation with Vladimir Putin and claiming that Putin “wants war.”
