"No, I'll accept the child. I want you to give me the baby." Matthew said seriously. Then he turned to me. "Lorelei, please. Give me another chance, I promise to make things right. And since we don't have children yet, we can adopt Kourtney's baby. You want to have a child, right?"

I laughed at his ridiculous idea. "Matthew, I have no intention of raising someone else's child, especially not yours and Kourtney's, conceived through betrayal!" I insisted.

"But Lorelei, I'm willing to give you this child. I'm not ready to raise this alone, I haven't finished college, and I don't have a job yet. I need your help, sis." Kourtney said, crying.

"So why did you do something you knew would ruin your life? You're old enough to know right from wrong, Kourtney." I said angrily. I couldn't understand her, it felt like it was my obligation to help her after she betrayed me.

"I didn't intend to do that, sis. I was just tempted, but I promise, I won't do it again, and I want to make it up to you when I give birth to this child. I'll let you adopt him." She tried to convince me, both of them were so insensitive, they didn't understand the pain I was feeling.

"Are you two even thinking? Do you think it's normal for me to just accept everything and pretend nothing happened? No way! I can't forgive you, and if you don't leave, I will!"

I stormed towards my room to pack my things while Matthew tried to stop me. '

"Lorelei, what do I have to do to make you forgive me?"

"If you want me to forgive you, then never show your face to me again!" I shoved him and continued into the room.

"I won't leave you, Lorelei, no matter what. Nothing can separate us! So please, forgive me. I'm your husband, so you should forgive me!" he pleaded.

His words made my ears ring. "Don't you hear yourself? Matthew, you're the crazy one in this relationship! That's why I told you to stay away from my sister, because I knew something bad would happen, but you didn't listen, and now here are the consequences! And my decision to divorce you is final!"

"I won't allow it! Lorelei, you seem to forget that you became a lawyer because of my family's help. So make the right decision, or you'll regret what you're doing, you might lose your job." Matthew threatened, and I felt a pang of fear because his family held influence.
