“How could you smash the chair? She is your sister after all. You can talk but don’t use your hands.”
There was a crackling sound and my brother flipped the table over.
I turned my head to look at the chair that was smashed to pieces on the ground.
If I did not dodge, the chair would have hit me directly.
My tyrannical brother had a gloomy face and glared at me fiercely. “No way this person is not my sister. Mom, stay out of my business.”
“Why did you bully my sister at school today? Don’t think you can be arrogant just because this is your home. You are not my sister, she is. I don’t recognize you.”
My mother who was standing by, hugging Kelly in her arms, looked at me, frowned and then scolded, “The teacher called me. I know I have treated you badly over the years, but it has nothing to do with her. How could you hit her?”
Then my mother sighed, with a hint of pity in her eyes and spoke in a negotiating tone, “If you really have to, you should move out. Look how much trouble you have caused in the past few days since you came back.
“Besides, they will come to visit us in a few days and I will not be able to explain it to you if you stay at home.”
Perhaps because I did not say anything, Kelly, who had been silent the whole time, began to cry faintly.
Kelly cried in my mother's arms, feeling aggrieved.
“Mom, I was about to get engaged to Mr. Truman, but Jaclyn gave me a chest-breaking blow in front of everyone.”
When she said the last few words, she could not help but point to her chest hypocritically.
Even though I did not hit her hard, the mark left by the broken stone on her body was still extremely obvious.
“How can I face people in the future? I just said a few words and she treated me like this.”
Kelly threw herself into my mother's arms, her eyes full of tears.
When my mother heard that, her face became even gloomier and turned blue.
“You're too much, Jaclyn. How can you treat your sister like that? After all, it's just some gossip that people outside say.”
Just some gossip?
I glanced at my mother who was lying with her eyes open in front of me. These days, I had been treated coldly at home.
Either Kelly's things were missing, or the jewelry in the house was stolen.
If I had not taken the initiative to install surveillance, the police would have been called in the end. Otherwise, they would have tried to frame me with such despicable means.
